National Grid - Transforming Legal Matter Management with Office 365
10.15am - 10.45am

Energy giant National Grid plc has a large legal department in the UK. Six teams provide legal services to over 17 business entities and 24 business areas. Following a company reorganisation the legal function wanted to boost collaboration and consistency in the way it managed legal matters over their lifecycle.

Rather than invest in a niche document management solution, National Grid chose to harness its existing Microsoft Office/Outlook and SharePoint systems and deploy ES /Unity™ from Repstor and law firm Eversheds Sutherland.  This meant giving consistency in the way users stored and accessed case documentation and emails, but without requiring that users change the way they naturally work. This decision has delivered impressive user adoption levels with 87% describing their experience as ‘excellent’ within just a few weeks of going live.

By attending this session you will learn:

  • How moving to a standardised approach to document and case management has improved productivity, simplicity and efficiency
  • How to leverage existing Office 365 and Microsoft Outlook/Office investments to drive user adoption levels. How familiarity and ease of use have boosted enthusiasm and adoption.
  • One of the key ingredients of any successful deployment is change management.  Mo will present how National Grid addressed this and how it contributed to the project’s success.
